The Vintage Cosmetic Company Brushes! |
Judging by the title of this post you can probably tell what I'm going to talk about - my trip to the Clothes Show.
This Monday I was lucky enough to bag a ticket to the Clothes Show courtesy of my University for only £10 (!) - fashion journalism perks!
If you've never been before it is basically a fashion show in which they usually tell a story and have live performers and celebrity hosts. There are also a good range of fashion and beauty stalls, all offering amazing discounts for the show-goers only. So you can't come away empty handed and you'll most definitely bag yourself a bargain.
Unfortunately, we arrived quite late so missed our showing of the main Fashion Show, only to find out after that we could have just gone to any of the showings :( (blonde moments!)
Besides that, and the unbearable 6 hour journey down to Birmingham, we had an amazing day. The stalls were unbelievable - there must have been a good 300 stalls selling everything from vintage Levi's to scented candles.
I took advantage of the Carmex stall (of course), you all know I do love my Carmex. If you haven't tried it - get yourself some - it's a must-have this season for those dry, chapped lips.
I picked up the twisty one in the original flavour - as I can never find this in regular drugstores, and the Berry tint Carmex - which I've been dying to try.
I also picked up some gorgeous 'The Vintage Cosmetic Company' makeup brushes. I picked up these four for a absolute bargain of £10! Normally marketed at £7-16 each, I'd say I'm pretty proud of my purchases! And to top it all off they're a cute pinky colour and work really well!
Another one of the stalls I couldn't ignore was the Barry M stand. Offering nail varnishes and lipsticks for £2.99 you saved a £1 or you could get two for £5 which is what I did. I also got a free Lambrini nail varnish, which I really like the colour of!
Last but not least, I bought a dress from the 'Glamourous' stand. I believe this brand sells from Ark stores, but I'm not 100 per cent certain.
The dress I got was a dark burgundy colour with a lovely greeny/blue paisley pattern. It's a really nice, light material and of a skater style with 3/4 length sleeves. I can't wait to style it up with a big chunky scarf and boots in the day then with tights and heels for the night!
As for my outfit for the day, I apologise about the shocking
pose I'm doing, you'd think after a year and a half of blogging I'd have
mastered it, but clearly not.
Anyway ... what am I wearing?
The top is originally a River Island dress
that I cut up and made into a laptop case and a skirt. But I love the cute
daisy pattern!

I was also wearing my burgundy coat with the cosy fur around the
neck, but it had to come off because I was too hot.
All in all I'd say it was a fantastic day out - one to definitely share with friends. Speaking of friends, two of mine both spent £20 on palm reading at the show, which was very interesting to say the least!
That's all for today my lovelies, if you liked this post be sure to follow me on Bloglovin' and share on Twitter!
Lots of love,
Rosie
