My trip to the V&A Museum!

Sculpture in the foyer
at the V&A
Yesterday I went to the Victoria and Albert museum in London with Textiles, as our annual trip to find artist connections to link with our projects! Here is how our day went:

7:30 met at school, all eleven of us plus three teachers piled on to the school minibus.
11:30 after three hours of traffic, we finally reached Cockfosters, to take the tube into London.

And it was my first ride on the tube! The way there was lovely, we all had seats and a carriage to ourselves. But I must say that in my head, I imagined it cleaner!

At 12:20 we arrived at the V&A, and after having our bags searched (yes!) - we were in!!
We had two and a half hours to roam around before we had to meet back at the 'bum' statue (yes, a marble statue of legs and a giant bottom!)

So off we went, firstly touring around the fashion and textiles exhibition, here are a few pictures of the garments I chose for my artist connections:

Crocheted Lace Dress
Givenchy Baroque Dress
Lacy Collar
I must say the prices there are extortionate; a friend of mine paid almost £6 for a small baguette sandwich! However it is free to get in - which is amazing considering how big the place is and full of cultural artefacts.

I would honestly love to go again, without having to rush. Then I could take my time and wander around at my own pace (haha – I sound like an old granny!) but it would make a lovely day out (minus the travelling) and I could easily have spent a good hour wandering around the V&A shop and with Harrods just a ten minute walk away – you can’t go wrong!

We spent the rest of the day in the cafe and getting lost! Here is a beautiful picture of the garden in the V&A - it's so picturesque!

I would 100% recommend you to visit the V&A, there is something for everyone!

Don't forget to check out my Instagram page for more exciting pictures from my day out!

Until next time my darlings,

Beautiful Bargains

Autumn is vastly approaching, and let’s just say I am somewhat prepared! I have been on the lookout for a good ol’ winter coat for quite a while now but have not been successful so far. But have been preparing my wardrobe for my favourite time of year!

Anyway, here are a few of my pre-autumn shopping steals (No, I did not steal them!), it’s just they were so cheap it felt like it…

Dresses
£8 each at Primark
First up are these two beautiful patterned dresses from Primark at only £8 each!  I got so excited in the shop I grabbed one of each and dashed to the counter as fast as possible! But can you believe these dresses were only £8. I had to do a double-take! They fit so well, and I am a big fan of half sleeves, as I don’t really like to show my shoulders off too much, but these are perfect!I can’t wait to wear them with wooly tights and cute mary-janes this A/W season!

Long sleeved shirts
£6 each New Look Sale
Next up, are these two long sleeved shirts I picked up in the new look sale! One is burgundy with light polka dots and the other is a dark teal paisley pattern. They are both so cute, the paisley one was my size and fits perfectly! But the burgundy one was slightly bigger than I would have originally wanted, but I love that oversized comfort look – especially for the upcoming seasons! They both have really pretty collars – that I will most definitely be layering up this season! And they were just £6 each - you can’t go wrong!

This just proves that you need to have a keen eye when shopping! If you ever see an item you love that is slightly overpriced, don’t snap it up there and then, keep an eye out in other high street shops you might just find yourself a bargain!

If you have any looks that you’d like me to recreate, just pop me a comment in the box below, I’d be happy to!

Love always,

Roseanne

Autumn/Winter Wishlist

So I know what you’re thinking: ‘It’s barely even September and you are planning winter looks?’ Well, yes I am, and I’m sorry I cannot help myself. I just love the A/W seasons so much, it means layering, buttoned up shirts, warm jumpers and long socks - I cannot wait!

Here’s a little sneak peak of a few items on my A/W wishlist…

Zara Navy Blue double-breasted
coat £109

How wonderful is this coat though? It is the epitome of beautiful coats AND it is double-breasted which is a great plus because it looks great and keeps you extra toasty during those winter months! However, it is £109, so consequently it will be spring again by the time I can afford it! But who cares?! This is my WISHlist! Haha J

 'Demsey' Tan handbag £35
or £17.50 (for first buyers) at justfab.com

Secondly I saw this cute 'Demsey bag' online at Justfab.com which you have to try out girls! And on offer for £17.50*, I will most definitely be purchasing this beautiful handbag sometime this month, and with three compartments it is perfect for all those winter essentials we carry around!

Formal White Shirt
Topshop £25
Next, is this simple White shirt. I have been dying for a new white shirt since I practically wore my last one to death, (if possible) and after sewing the buttons back on so many times, i finally gave up! But this one is simple, clean cut, and lets face it - it goes with everything! Dress it up or dress it down, every girl needs a long sleeve shirt. And it's perfect layered up for the upcoming seasons.

As you may have gathered by now, I love winter and it is my favourite time of year to just curl up in my pj's with a cup of tea and a good book! Here's a few classics that I plan to read over the next month (such pretty covers!)

 Hardback Classics
Waterstones

And lastly on my wishlist are these adorable T bar patent shoes. Hopefully i will be able to treat myself come payday, but honestly, who wouldn't want these? You could wear them with little frilly socks or warm woolly tights, and they come in black, navy and red - such choice!

Martie Patent T Bar Geek Shoes
Topshop £32

And that's it (sigh), hope you all enjoyed my wintery wishlist :)
Whats on yours? Let me know!

*Justfab does take £30 from you each month though, it caused me a lot of trouble. Luckily, I was able to get my money back because I'm under 18.

Until next time ..
