Winter Beauty Favourites

I have never been the type of girl to buy lots of makeup or hair products, most days I’d just go with the flow (i.e. straight hair and minimal makeup). I only had one type of foundation and when it ran out, I would buy it again.

But recently I have discovered an undying love for beauty products, so I thought I’d share with you my winter favourites!

In winter; I hate to admit it; but my hair usually falls out, not literally like I go bald or anything (!) but each time I brush it, a few strands would depart from my head. But aha! This Herbal Essences Bee Strong Shampoo (and conditioner!) is amazing!!! It is even honey scented! I haven’t lost a lock this month – it’s brilliant, my hair is soft and silky, it’s even thickening a bit (which in my case is brilliant, as my hair is extremely fine.)

I thoroughly suggest this product to all of you who have this problem too :)

Next up is this philosophy body wash. Not really winter related but hey-ho! This one is the ‘Vanilla birthday cake’ and mmmmm it smells so good I want to eat it! (Don’t worry I didn’t) It is a 3 in 1, bubble bath, body wash and shampoo. You can probably pick this bad boy up at your nearest Boots store for around £14; they also do cute gift sets that come with a vanilla lip gloss too!

Next up is my Clarins ‘Instant Smooth Foundation’ and I adore it! I have it in shade 00 Ivory Beige, which is only a teeny bit darker than my skin tone, however it was the lightest, but it’s not so bad that you would notice. It’s slightly thicker than my normal liquid foundation and it leaves my skin feeling so soft – it’s lovely. I think it’s better to have a thinner foundation in summer because it’s warmer, and you don’t want to be a sweaty Betty with thick foundation!

Lastly, is my Benefit lipgloss. I got it free along with Elle's December magazine! It's called 'Hoola ultra plush lipgloss'. In a shimmering golden nude shade, it's perfect for day to night changes (It isn't as dark as it looks in the bottle, I assure you!) And it smells really nice too - almost chocolaty, I will most definately be purchasing the larger one after Christmas, because this one will most likely have run out!

What are your beauty favourites this season?

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Lace it up

Lace is right on trend at the mo, so I thought I’d do a lace lookbook for you. Just in time for Christmas too – bring on party season!

Dress – Next £75
Shoes – New Look £24.99
Clutch - Accesorize £25
Bracelet – Accesorise £9

I absolutely adore this Next dress. Yes, it is rather pricey but think how long it would last! You could dress it up and down, it’s all down to the accessories (and the hair) they can make or break an outfit – so plan carefully! I would suggest a dark lipstick with this outfit, a dark red colour with smokey eyes would look great.

The clutch has a black lace overlay, which matches the dress in a simplistic sort of way, yet still matches the shoes (gotta love New Look!) and to top it all off the bracelet is within the baroque/lacey style too.

Personally, I don’t tend to wear too much jewellery – usually just earrings and one statement piece, but if you’re a jewellery addict you could add more bracelets with the same colours to achieve that vampy party look.

Hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what you thing below!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend,

Love Roseanne

Bouclé Chic

Recently I have seen quite a few of these skirts around and honestly, I WANT THEM ALL. They are popping up everywhere I go, it’s like they want me too (I know, sad right? But I’m just compensating for when I splurge all my Christmas wages on them!)
Here are my top five Bouclé skirts:

1.         Burgundy Bouclé mini skirt

Oh my, how I love this skirt. You can find this lovely number at Topshop’s Studio.

Pros:
©    It’s bouclé,
©    Fits perfectly,
©    Is burgundy,
©    Has a cute stallion zipper!
©    It’s £50!

Cons:
©    It’s £50!

But I’m hoping that after xmas it will come down in price (fingers crossed) because it is just soo beautiful!

2.         Cooperative Brushed Pull-on skirt in Tartan

As you all know, tartan is all the rage right now, but many of you may be worried to try this trend due to the risk of looking too ‘punky’. But alas, Roseanne is here! (haha!) And I have found you the perfect skirt in perfect balance between punk tartan and highlanders, so here you are. You can find this sweet little number at Urban Outfitters for £30.

3.         Soft Grey Short Skirt

Nombre trois on our list can be found at Vero Moda for £25 and let me tell you – it is super duper soft! It has a knitted lining (to keep you cosy) and leather lining around the waist and pockets, which separates the block of grey colour. I’ll definately be treating myself to this little treasure next week (roll on payday!)

So, how do you like Bouclé skirts? Have you seen any you like recently? Let me know! Pop a comment in the box below (I adore reading them!)

Vintage Treasures

Hello my lovelies! Today’s blogpost was inspired by a vintage fayre I went to yesterday at the Assembly Rooms in Derby with my wonderful friend Nicole. It was amazing, (aren’t they always?) we found lots of little treasures and even treated ourselves a little bit!

Here are both our Outfit’s from yesterday:

I do apologise for my dodgy pose but we can’t all look as lovely as Nicole all the time – hehe! (She’s a model too!)
We both chose different ends on the vintage spectrum with our outfits yesterday, Nicole went for the ‘Trad Tweed’ look and I went for the ‘Floral Heaven’ look J

We both bought a few items each, mine being two three scarves and Nicole bought a lovely black skirt with gold baroque embroidery – how exciting! She even got me an early xmas pressie. (No telling!)

So, considering I didn’t get too much yesterday, I thought I’d share with you a couple of my recent vintage treasures!

SCARVES…

I have quite a thing for scarves! These are my recent purchases ranging from £1 - £4 each, which is soo good considering how nice some of them are! No.4 is real cashmere and No’s 3 and 5 are silk.

Next up is this wonderful Navy Riding Jacket that I picked up in Nottingham a couple of weeks back. It is beautiful and fits soo perfectly it’s unreal, I snatched this one up for £30 which is a little more than I would have bargained for, but I gave in in the end and I just had to have it.

And finally, we have this lovely tartan blazer I bought earlier this year. This tartan pattern is lovely – I adore navy and hunter green colours together! It even has a navy velvet collar and very good sized pockets – which is quite rare in blazers. Normally I have to sew my own in. This cost me £18. Perfect for the tartan trend this winter!

What are your favourite vintage treasures?
Where is your favourite vintage shop? –Let me know!

Until next time,

Berry Tones

First of all, I apologise for not posting anything new for a while. I thought having a week off would solve all my problems and I could get back to blogging but I thought wrong. I had so much work to do but now that’s all over I can continue!

My inspiration for this post came to me just the other day, when a friend of mine noticed that I always have something burgundy on, whether it’s my nail varnish, my ring or the ribbon in my hair; the colour will be on my person in some way or another.
So after digging through my wardrobe and bedroom, I thought I’d show you my favourite berry coloured items for this season!

Ring - Birthday Present (Dorothy Perkins)

I was shopping and decided to splash out and treat myself with this Sally Hansen Nail Varnish. This one is in the shade ‘Red Zin’ and it is absolutely amazing! I have been on the lookout for the perfect shade of Burgundy (my go-to colour) for so long. And I think it’s safe to say that I have finally found it. I would most definitely recommend you try out ‘Sally Hansen’ for nail varnishes, the brushes are really thick and the varnish is a good quality that lasts – and the colours are to die for!

Next up, are my gorgeous winter coats!

This one (above) I picked up last year in H&M, it was around £35. It's so cosy. It has a fur collar/lapel which is just amazing during the cold weather. It has a belt tie and round black buttons on the front.
My second coat, you may recognise from my 'OOTD Southampton' post, is a beautiful oversized boyfriend coat.I really love the bobbly texture of the coat too, it's also really warm! Again, this coat wad from H&M and with 20% off, I got this coat for £27!
Coat - H&M
Now, when it comes to shoes, I am not as obsessed as most girls. To be honest, I hardly own any! In my day-to-day life, I think I must rotate between three pairs. However, these are my favourite burgundy shoes I own (out of three!) They are four-inch wedges, with a black elastic section around the ankle and zips at the side. I like to wear these with jeans to dress up and outfit for a meal out or something like that. I picked these up last year at Dorothy Perkins for only £20!

Wedges - Dorothy Perkins
And last but not least, is this beautiful tea dress I picked up from primark recently. Since the Primark website was launched, I went and had a nosy around and saw this dress on there! I instantly knew I had to have it! At only £8 you can't say no, can you? I already own 2 tea dresses similar to this one and I love them!

It's so so so pretty;the background of the dress is a dark blue-black colour, that really compliments the brighter floral tones. I can't wait to wear this dress with some wooly tights, a blazer and a chunky scarf this winter!

Whats your must-have colour this winter? Let me know!
Got any questions? Pop them in the box below, I read all your comments and try to reply to all of them.

That's all folks! (Haha!) I hope you enjoyed this post, because I certainly enjoyed making it!

Un aventure à Kedleston

Earlier this week I took a day trip out to Kedleston Hall with my Mum to take pictures of the neo-classical Baroque stylings there for my Textiles project.
Honestly I have never seen such a beautiful house (more like castle!)
Sometimes I wish that I was born in the early 19th century so that I could have lived in a grand chateau with its own church, stables and 100 acre land!

I would most definitely recommend Kedleston for a lovely day out – there’s even a cute little café at the end! Here are some of my pictures from the day:

Being the huge book worm that I am – I was mesmerised by the extent the trust had gone to, to keep the books so clean and pretty. Each book cabinet or bookcase was organised alphabetically or by topic. There was even one whole room dedicated to poetry! I found an original copy of Dante’s Inferno and the Divine Comedy even several editions of the dictionary - it was extraordinary, just a shame I couldn't sneak a peek.

Here is my outfit for the day
(sorry I don’t have a better picture):

Collared Shirt - River Island
Burgundy Cut Out Top - Next
Jeans - Topshop
Tan Brogues - Office
Side Bag - Cath Kidston (Of course!)

Autumn Winter Essentials

Autumn is just around the corner, which means Winter will not be far behind (only 65 days till Christmas!) So I have compiled a list of must-have essential items for the upcoming months!

A Winter Coat

1. Checked Coat, ZARA £129.
2. Double Breasted Pea coat, Topshop £75
3. Woolen Wraparound Coat, ZARA £89.99

Oversized is back and oh my - how I adore this trend. Here are three beauties I found online – aren’t they gorgeous! They are a tad expensive but just think - each one will last forever! The tartan coat is so beautiful (!) if only I was £129 richer I would snap this one up right away.

CARMEX

Carmex pot, £2.69 @ Boots

I can’t express my love for Carmex. My lips get really chapped and dry during the cold weather, so Carmex is a great remedy!

Brogues

1. 'Grosvenor' Brogues, £175 Russell&Bromley
2. 'Mersey' Leather Brogues, £50 ASOS
3. 'Frankie Chocolate Brown Brogues', £60 Office

Most girls prefer boots for winter but I've never been that type of gal. I prefer a good old brogue – these are just to die for aren't they? I have actually been dying for a pair of Russell and Bromley brogues forever so hopefully when my birthday comes around, (next April) I might get lucky.
Honestly brogues are my favourite style of shoes because they go with all my clothes! My most recent pair are tan coloured from office and comfy too! If i could wear them everywhere, I most certainly would.

Cosy Knitwear

1. 'Rice Sun' Knit, £21 Vero Moda
2. 'Rayser Crew', £32 Jack Wills Outlet
3. 'Fargo' Knit, £34 Vero Moda

Knitwear is key at this time of year, great to layer up over shirts and even dresses to keep you warm. These two Vero Moda knits are lovely aren’t they? I seriously recommend you go checkout their new season knitwear – there’s loads to choose from!

That's all folks - see you in my next post!

My Beauty Regime revealed ...

We all love to have a good nosy, so I thought I’d share with you all my daily beauty regime and what products I use. I have two beauty bags, one for cleansing and another for makeup. This is my beauty cleansing bag …

I use these products day and night, part of my daily routine - for me this works but I suppose it’s just down to what skin type you have. My skin gets quite dry easily so I do like to stock up on the good old moisturising products!

1. The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Skin Cleansing Toner
2. Clarins Cleanser
3. Simple’s hydrating moisturiser
4. Neutrogena’s Multi-defence Daily Moisturiser
5. Anatomicals ‘stop cracking up’ lip balm

Ok, so let’s start with 1… I honestly cannot express my love for the ‘Tea Tree’ range at the Body Shop. It is wonderful! I have also tried the face mask which left my face smelling lovely (and clean!) I use this toner twice a day after cleansing and it works wonders. It also has ‘white willow bark’ at the bottom of the bottle which you have to ‘shake to activate’ – how exciting!

Next we have my beautiful Clarins cleanser. It is to die for. It works really well and moisturises the skin at the same time, something that I really love about it is that it doesn't have a strong sickly smell either, however it is rather pricey so I like to stock up at Christmas and birthdays.

Number 3 is the Simple moisturiser, it really is simple – there isn't much to it. I’m not a huge fan of this because it sits on top of your skin rather than absorbing in. But it’s always good to have an extra!

Up next is the daily Neutrogena moisturiser, I think it’s safe to say this is THE BEST MOISTURISER EVER … and I have run out (sobs!) It works so well and sinks right in to your skin straight away. I got this one from Wilko’s but I haven't found it anywhere since – so if you see it, let me know!

Lastly is the Anatomicals lip balm. I bought this due to the humorous poem on the front and came to find that it actually works really well, I would definitely recommend you try it.

My beauty bag has come to an end :( hope you enjoyed this post!
What products do you use? Do you use any of these? How do you find them? I’d love to know (!) just pop me a comment in the box below! I'll make sure to reply.

Thanks for reading,
