Un aventure à Kedleston

Earlier this week I took a day trip out to Kedleston Hall with my Mum to take pictures of the neo-classical Baroque stylings there for my Textiles project.
Honestly I have never seen such a beautiful house (more like castle!)
Sometimes I wish that I was born in the early 19th century so that I could have lived in a grand chateau with its own church, stables and 100 acre land!

I would most definitely recommend Kedleston for a lovely day out – there’s even a cute little café at the end! Here are some of my pictures from the day:

Being the huge book worm that I am – I was mesmerised by the extent the trust had gone to, to keep the books so clean and pretty. Each book cabinet or bookcase was organised alphabetically or by topic. There was even one whole room dedicated to poetry! I found an original copy of Dante’s Inferno and the Divine Comedy even several editions of the dictionary - it was extraordinary, just a shame I couldn't sneak a peek.

Here is my outfit for the day
(sorry I don’t have a better picture):

Collared Shirt - River Island
Burgundy Cut Out Top - Next
Jeans - Topshop
Tan Brogues - Office
Side Bag - Cath Kidston (Of course!)

Autumn Winter Essentials

Autumn is just around the corner, which means Winter will not be far behind (only 65 days till Christmas!) So I have compiled a list of must-have essential items for the upcoming months!

A Winter Coat

1. Checked Coat, ZARA £129.
2. Double Breasted Pea coat, Topshop £75
3. Woolen Wraparound Coat, ZARA £89.99

Oversized is back and oh my - how I adore this trend. Here are three beauties I found online – aren’t they gorgeous! They are a tad expensive but just think - each one will last forever! The tartan coat is so beautiful (!) if only I was £129 richer I would snap this one up right away.

CARMEX

Carmex pot, £2.69 @ Boots

I can’t express my love for Carmex. My lips get really chapped and dry during the cold weather, so Carmex is a great remedy!

Brogues

1. 'Grosvenor' Brogues, £175 Russell&Bromley
2. 'Mersey' Leather Brogues, £50 ASOS
3. 'Frankie Chocolate Brown Brogues', £60 Office

Most girls prefer boots for winter but I've never been that type of gal. I prefer a good old brogue – these are just to die for aren't they? I have actually been dying for a pair of Russell and Bromley brogues forever so hopefully when my birthday comes around, (next April) I might get lucky.
Honestly brogues are my favourite style of shoes because they go with all my clothes! My most recent pair are tan coloured from office and comfy too! If i could wear them everywhere, I most certainly would.

Cosy Knitwear

1. 'Rice Sun' Knit, £21 Vero Moda
2. 'Rayser Crew', £32 Jack Wills Outlet
3. 'Fargo' Knit, £34 Vero Moda

Knitwear is key at this time of year, great to layer up over shirts and even dresses to keep you warm. These two Vero Moda knits are lovely aren’t they? I seriously recommend you go checkout their new season knitwear – there’s loads to choose from!

That's all folks - see you in my next post!

My Beauty Regime revealed ...

We all love to have a good nosy, so I thought I’d share with you all my daily beauty regime and what products I use. I have two beauty bags, one for cleansing and another for makeup. This is my beauty cleansing bag …

I use these products day and night, part of my daily routine - for me this works but I suppose it’s just down to what skin type you have. My skin gets quite dry easily so I do like to stock up on the good old moisturising products!

1. The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Skin Cleansing Toner
2. Clarins Cleanser
3. Simple’s hydrating moisturiser
4. Neutrogena’s Multi-defence Daily Moisturiser
5. Anatomicals ‘stop cracking up’ lip balm

Ok, so let’s start with 1… I honestly cannot express my love for the ‘Tea Tree’ range at the Body Shop. It is wonderful! I have also tried the face mask which left my face smelling lovely (and clean!) I use this toner twice a day after cleansing and it works wonders. It also has ‘white willow bark’ at the bottom of the bottle which you have to ‘shake to activate’ – how exciting!

Next we have my beautiful Clarins cleanser. It is to die for. It works really well and moisturises the skin at the same time, something that I really love about it is that it doesn't have a strong sickly smell either, however it is rather pricey so I like to stock up at Christmas and birthdays.

Number 3 is the Simple moisturiser, it really is simple – there isn't much to it. I’m not a huge fan of this because it sits on top of your skin rather than absorbing in. But it’s always good to have an extra!

Up next is the daily Neutrogena moisturiser, I think it’s safe to say this is THE BEST MOISTURISER EVER … and I have run out (sobs!) It works so well and sinks right in to your skin straight away. I got this one from Wilko’s but I haven't found it anywhere since – so if you see it, let me know!

Lastly is the Anatomicals lip balm. I bought this due to the humorous poem on the front and came to find that it actually works really well, I would definitely recommend you try it.

My beauty bag has come to an end :( hope you enjoyed this post!
What products do you use? Do you use any of these? How do you find them? I’d love to know (!) just pop me a comment in the box below! I'll make sure to reply.

Thanks for reading,

Liebster Award Nomination!

So I guess I've been nominated for the Liebster Award! I was really shocked to be nominated, as loads of my favourite bloggers have been nominated before and now have way more than 200 followers.
I've been lucky enough to be nominated by the wonderful Emma-Jane here's a special shout out to you - thank you my lovely!

The Liebster award is a great way for new bloggers to become more popular and gain more followers, as it just opens it up to more people really! Things like this award really make blogging worthwhile :) The word ‘Liebster’ is German and means ‘nice, lovely, kind, and dear’ which is really cute – a great idea!

The rules are simple:
1. Each nominee must answer the 11 questions from the person who nominated them.
2. You must then choose 11 other who have under 200 followers to pass on the award.
3. Tell them about their nomination.
4. Choose 11 new questions for them to answer, and so on!

So here goes! Questions from Emma (and my answers!):

 1.  Which celebrity’s style has influenced you the most?
I quite like Emma Watson’s style as she dresses in a simple but elegant fashion. I also like Taylor Swift and Troian Bellisario.
2.  Favourite Designer?
Elie Saab, no doubt about it! His beadwork is am-a-zing! I love how graceful and elegant his gowns are and that each of his collections are so unique with wonderful themes.
3.  Most Worn Accessory?
Hmm, this is a tricky one! But I’d have to say my cute scissor earrings I got at the clothes show last year – I love them so much I hardly take them out.
4.  Favourite nail varnish?
My fave colour would be burgundy (of course!) and fave brand would probably be Barry M (I have too many to count!)
5.  What is on the top of your bucket list?
To live in France! I adore the French language so much; I’m currently doing A2 French which I’m really enjoying. So hopefully sometime in the near future I will be able to study abroad there.
6.  What is your opinion on the pastel coloured hair trend?
I’m not crazy for it, but if it suits you go for it! I think if I tried it I would look like a wannabe Smurf.
7.  Favourite era – in terms of fashion and why?
1920’s the Gatsby era of course! Sequins, flapper dresses, headpieces and beading – if I could be a flapper girl I would jump at it. I’m thinking of having a 20’s inspired tea party soon too!
8.  What influences you to blog?
Everything from places I go, people I see, trends I like to items I have or want.
9.  If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
Second from France, I would like to go to New York. I want to experience the New-Yorker lifestyle as a budding journalist! The busy city life with so much to do and places to see and let’s not forget all the shopping perks!
10. What do you hope to be doing in the next year?
Hopefully by this time next year, I will have just started university studying ‘Fashion Journalism’ or something along those lines.
11.  Why did you decide to start a blog?
It was just a spur of the moment thing really. I have always loved reading fashion blogs, watching hauls and reading magazines so I thought I would start my own blog share with others my passion for fashion!

Who I'm nominating:

And my questions to the bloggers are:
1.   What is your favourite season?
2.   What was your last splurge on?
3.   Who is your style icon?
4.   What is your must-have beauty product?
5.   Tea or Coffee?
6.   Made in Chelsea or TOWIE?
7.   Do you collect anything?
8.   What is your favourite item in your wardrobe at the moment?
9.   Favourite beauty brand?
10.        What do you love the most about blogging?
11.        What are your aspirations for the future?

OOTD - Southampton

This weekend I travelled down to Southampton for Solent’s University open day with my dear Mummy! We had a lovely day Friday, no traffic all the way, leaving plenty time for shopping (my favourite!)

We went to the Westquay shopping centre, which was really modern inside, it reminded me of the Bullring centre in Birmingham and had loads of good shops too!

I persuaded myself to buy this beautiful woolly oversized burgundy coat which is amazing and I love it and will not be taking it off for the next three months (I'm not joking) and I got 20% off with Uni Days!

So here’s my first Outfit of the Day (how exciting!):

  Shirt - Hollister
Coat - H&M
 Jeans - Topshop
   Shoes - Primark
 Shoulder bag - Cath Kidston
Scarf – Vintage

Hope you enjoyed this post, I know I did! I would recommend visiting Southampton next time you’re in the area – it’s so beautiful and there are lots of uni’s in the area so maybe I’ll see you there one day – who knows!?
