The Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle.

The Alexander McQueen dress!

What I'm wearing: Coat - Vintage Rosette / Skirt -
Urban Outfitters / Shirt - Primark / Bag - Mary Portas /
T-Bars - Primark / Sunglasses - H&M

Last Thursday I was lucky enough to score a trip to the Bowes Museum in Durham to see the Birds of Paradise Exhibition.

The trip was organised by my lovely course leader Julie, and it truly was a fantastic day out. We were even able to meet and speak to the museum's fashion and textiles curator Joanna Hashagan.

The Birds of Paradise exhibition was amazing. I'm even saw the Alexander McQueen White Swan Feather dress IN THE FLESH.(See Pictures) It was in a glass cabinet but hey-ho.
I can't express how beautiful it was to lay my eyes on such an extravagant dress. My friend Beth and I had a fabbity fab time exploring the castle and the grounds. We took some lovely photos on her snazzy camera too, which turned out pretty well since the weather was glorious for once!* Do be sure to check out Beth's blogs too here and here, and give her a cheeky follow!

*:Blogger Problems: Your outfit is always on point when the weather is crap and photos aren't even an option.

All in all it was a fabulous day and I'm so happy to be able to share it with you all.

Little Updates

Aup me ducks! I just wanted to do a short chatty post today about what I’ve been up to recently.

Basically I’ve been excluded from all fun activities since last Wednesday when I tore a ligament in my foot, which has been grueling to say the least, but it’s given me time to rest and sit back for a bit, as I’m usually a very busy body!

Uni has been more interesting recently. I'm doing two modules at the mo: Introduction to Fashion Journalism and Online Video Journalism. The fashion one is really cool, our current project is to create street style piece, which was fun putting together - but we found it super nerve-wracking approaching people on the streets. Luckily all but one took it as a compliment and cooperated, saving me and Lucy lots of time!

The video journalism on the other hand is something i've never done and the programme 'Premiere Pro' is foreign to me, so it's taking time to get my head round it. But hopefully if i put in the hours I'll get there.

Unfortunately the sore ankle means that I won’t be playing in our last netball match of the BUCS season this afternoon! (Cries!) But after a trip to the library (good student, me hehe) I'll be off to go and support my team, with cupcakes in hand win or lose!

Then we’ll be hitting the town tonight for another classic ‘Wednesday night’ – i.e. the sports night out in Sunderland, in which all the teams do funny fancy dress week after week – always a hit!

I’ve been watching – Vampire Diaries
I’ve been listening to – Paloma Faith
I've been reading - Stylist
I’ve been loving – The Paris Fashion Week Snapchat Story

What’ve you been up to this week?

Products I've used up and bought again!

Today I thought I share with you some of my favourite products that I've bought, used up and bought again!

First up is the Elvive Extraordinary Hair Oil. I believe I may have mentioned this beauty in my Hair Revival post, but if you missed that, take it from me; this is the best hair oil on the market. It successfully binds your hair making it stronger, feel nicer - without being too slippy and oily, and it heals split ends. For the petit price of £9.99 you'll receive post-salon worthy locks, so I'd say it's definitely worth a try if your hair is lacking luster at the moment!

Secondly is the 'Scrub Your Nose In It' soft face scrub from Soap And Glory. I bought this last April, yes - 11 months ago and it has only just ran out! Which is fantastic! That's like 80pence a month. (£9 in total!) For my full review on this scrub see here. It was literally second nature repurchasing this scrub. And i don't regret it one bit, as it's become a key part of my facial cleansing routine.

Last but not least is the 'They're Real' mascara from Benefit which retails at £19.50. I bought this one in December, that being my third time repurchasing this product. I just find it really easy to use. The brush is quite delicate (but sturdy) and has very thin bristles so it doesn't get clogged up easily, which is why it applies mascara so well - giving the illusion that they're your real eyelashes. It opens up your eyes, which is why I'd highly recommend it! The actually mascara isn't gloopy and doesn't get caught on the brush which is always a bonus.

Also, I know quite a few people who are allergic to other mascaras and beauty products who have really sensitive eyes, but all of them find that the benefit 'They're real' mascara works wonders and doesn't leave them in pain!

I find you can apply this mascara in one of two ways. One: is to layer it up and it gives a nice thick lash, or two: slowly apply from the very underneath of your top lash for the perfect 'they're real' look.

What products do you re-buy and re-buy? So you use any of these? Let me know in the comments below!

Bruised.

Can you believe it’s March already? I can’t! I mean; it was only just Christmas!

P.S. I’m sorry if I’ve said this for the last three months, I just can’t believe how fast my first year at university is going by! It's crazy to think I've been here almost 6 months.

Today was a really cool day. I got up bright and early -  in student terms: 8:45am,  had a cuppa with my flatmate Rebekah, went and got ready then I set off for my Online Video Journalism lecture at 9:30am.

I hopped on the bus to town and had a little wander. I picked up some new sunglasses from H&M and then because I misjudged how windy it was, I needed to pick up something to keep me warm for my walk back to uni. So I grabbed this oversized black coat/blazer for only £7 in Primark. Bargain!

I nipped into Costa and took advantage if my 25% staff discount. I had some breakfast and a cappuccino whilst catching up on my bloglovin' feed (you can follow me here). It was fabbity fab. I then headed back to uni for my final two workshops of the day, so was home by half five.

This outfit is basically just black and purple hence the title ‘bruised’.

Lipstick - Gosh Burgundy

Attempt at better light, hopefully you can see what I'm wearing!

Trés windy!

These T-Bars were only £10! Aren't they adorable?

I’m wearing:

Coat/Blazer – Primark
Thin blazer – H&M
Scalloped top – Topshop
Scarf – Stolen from my Mum!
Skirt – New Look
T Bar Shoes – Primark
Bag – M by Mary Portas

Thanks to my wonderful friend Lucy for taking these pictures! Hope you liked it!
