My week in pictures #2

This week had been so so busy: I hate to admit that my planned blogposts didn't go to plan i. e. I forgot to take my outfit photos. So to make up for that, here I have a short but sweet 'my week in pictures' post for you  ... (I will get better at juggling uni work, my social life and blogging - I promise!)

Left to Right 1-5

1 - Monday! My ootd for my very first lecture; Fashion History and Culture. I'm really getting into this subject, it's just a shame I only have fashion orientated lectures once a week, but I suppose, to be a proper journalist, you have to learn the basics first.

2 - Here's a cute picture of Myself and Evie, one of my flatmates, at the Silent Disco on the last night of freshers. It was such a good night! Evie is so lovely and it's amazing that we get on so well, considering that we are so different.

3 - Last weekend we went on a little adventure around Sunderland and made it round to Roker beach. From there, we found ourselves in a lovely grand park, with this adorable bandstand in the centre! It was so picturesque! But it was really nice to get out of our accomodation and explore the beyond (hehe very Buzz Lightyear - I know!)

4 - I found a tea shop in Sunderland *jumps for joy whilst writing this post*. After accompanying my other flatmate Bekah to the hairdressers on Friday, we were both knackered and seriously in need of a cuppa, when we stumbled across a small tea room on the side of a furniture shop. So in we went of course! And it was delicious to say the least, I had a yummy toasted cheese scone and a good few cuppas.

5 - Last but not least, is the most beautiful Burberry mac that I spotted in Fenwicks Newcastle.
Our course leader, Julie Bradford, set up an interview for us with the Fashion Buyer for Fenwicks Newcastle Holly Ritchie. She had just returned from NYFW, so it was great to hear what she thought of the new collections and to hear about her responsibilities as a fashion buyer.
Anyway, the Burberry coat comes in just after, as we were set a challenge to find a statement piece and write a little about it for the website Fashion North. You can see the final post {here}. I finally went with this coat in Navy as I thought it was more versatile, but the burgundy mac is still the top of my lust list.

What did you get up to this week?
What do you think of these posts?

Ta ta for now,

Love Roseanne

Changes

University is a big choice. One that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Luckily for me, I’ve always enjoyed education (yes, I’m the girl that likes essays) so really it was a no brainer for me whether I would go on to uni after sixth form.

So this time last week, my parents and I packed up all of my belongings and made the 3 and a half hour journey up north to my new home in the North East. I think it’s safe to say that I was terrified to start. To meet my flatmates. To be in a foreign city and to basically study something that I’ve never done before.

Now, a week into uni life, with freshers almost over (sob!) I can happily say that I’m starting to settle in really nicely. My flatmates are great, we’re all so different which I love, as we’d probably never have crossed paths otherwise. My course leader is so lovely which excites me with what’s to come next week.

In case you don’t know, I’m studying Fashion Journalism, and already we’ve experienced the most wonderful things that I would never have had the chance to do alone. For example, we had a journalism masterclass with recent UofS graduates who were all so friendly in giving us advice on Wednesday. We also were able to interview Holly Ritchie, the Fashion Buyer for Fenwick in Newcastle on Thursday!

Basically, what I’m trying to say is that there may be some timing changes on All Things Rosy over the next few weeks, since I'm experiencing so many changes myself. I will try my very best to post regularly with at least one a week for you all but please bear with me! If you have any suggestions for posts, or if there’s anything you’d like to talk to me about please don’t hesitate to pop a comment in the box below or fill in the contact form at the bottom of the page.

Here are a couple of my pictures from this week:

September Wishlist

Hey there my lovelies, I hope you’re all having a nice evening!

Today I have a sort of autumn wishlist/lookbook for you all, personally I’ve been loving and lusting over all the street style from NYFW and now LFW which have inspired me to create my own fashion lookbook/wishlist of some beautiful pieces available on the high street this season. I feel that they can all be dressed up or down to create that effortlessly chic look we've all seen sported by the biggest names in fashion.

1.         Zara Printed Blouse £39.99
2.         Zara Stripe Cotton Tee £9.99
3.         Topshop Leather Jacket £48
4.         Topshop Joni Jeans Black £36
5.         New Look Black Cut Out Boots £22.99 £18.74 SALE!
6.         River Island Round Tortoise Shell Glasses £13
7.         Miss Selfridge Black Felt Fedora £25
8.         Accessorize Sofia Handheld Bag £35

Ok, so first of all can we just discuss how BEAUTIFUL this paisley shirt is! Je l’adore absolument! And to top it off it is made of silk, which is really just the icing on top of the cake. At £39 it is rather pricey, but you can expect no less than great quality with this shirt – especially being from Zara.

Another Zara piece I've picked out is this simple striped tee, which I have actually already purchased and included in my last ootd (see here). It is a great price, and I honestly feel that it is so versatile. You could wear it with jeans and a denim skirt for that casual day-time look, or dress it up with jeans, a denim jacket and heels for at night! You can’t go wrong with this – especially at £9.99.

The black jeans are a key piece in our autumn/winter wardrobes this year as they basically go with anything and everything, therefore I picked out these high-waisted ones from Topshop for that added height that they’ll give you. E.g they’ll make your legs look longer! And that’s never a bad thing, eh girls?

The leather jacket. My friend Emma and I were just discussing how much we both need one as they are just such a key style piece at this time of year, and can transform a casual look so well. This one isn't too pricey and still has the desired killer fashionista look.

Lastly we have a few accessories that I've had my eye on for quite some time. I’ve seen lots of pictures from fashion week and from the ‘frow’ girls, and we all know that sunglasses are essential for this occasion, so why not for us? These particular ones are from River Island and have a classy tortoise shell finish which would look great paired with this classic black hat from Miss Selfridge.

As well as sunnies and a fedora, a bag and some killer shoes are also a must at this time of year, you’ll need a larger bag to keep all you bits and bobs in (in my case tissues and paracetamol as I already have my first autumn cold!) and this gorgeous berry one from Accesorize is just to die for! And finally, these cut out black boots which to me are both pretty and practical for the upcoming autumn season.

French Vibes in Matlock

Yesterday my sister Claire, my Mum and I took a trip down to Matlock to have a nice day out before Claire goes back to school, and I leave for uni (eek!)

There were some wonderful little boutiques and antique shops there - I even picked up an old French novel written in 1868 which I can't wait to decipher (!) I believe the title translates as ‘Little Good-for-nothing’ – but don’t hold me to that!

As well as French antiques, I felt I was channelling my inner Parisian with my outfit. I was inspired to put this look together after a friend gave me this adorable bicycle necklace for my birthday, so I matched it with a stripy tee, a denim skirt along with my cream mac and hey presto je suis Francais!

Claire and I.

Top - Zara
Skirt - Matalan
Mac - Next
Ballet pumps - H&M
Satchel – Primark
Claire's dress - H&M

I hope you’re all enjoying the last few days of your hols before it’s time to welcome back autumn and its sneaky little friend: work!

À Bientôt,

Love Roseanne
