Grey OOTD

Hello my lovelies, I've got a simple OOTD post for you today. I’m just nipping into town with my little sister to pick up a few bits and pieces before I have to pack for Paris! (It’s tomorrow!) So I thought I'd blog my outfit!

What am I wearing?

Top: F&F @ Tesco
Trousers: Zara
Cardigan: it’s my sisters ssh!
Bag: Mary Portas
Boots: Kurt Geiger

I love this outfit, it’s so comfy and the pieces go surprisingly well together. I got the trousers in the late January sales, this being their first outing (how exciting!) They are a divine dark tartan pattern and they’re even high-waisted. I've paired them with a simple F&F grey cami.

I also snapped up these beautiful Kurt Geiger’s in York, on my way up to Sunderland last year for their first open day. Which seems like ages ago because I’ve been up another time since then, for a journalism applicant day which was lovely! I found out that the fashion journalist’s there run their own website called ‘Fashion North’ and they were kind enough to let us feature in a 'What I Wore' post! (see here)

Hope you enjoyed this post, short and sweet are always best!

Au revoir,

Love Roseanne

p.s keep an eye out for my Paris blog post to come sometime next week!

February Favourites

Ok, so I really do apologise with how infrequent I’ve been this past week. I’ve just been so busy with work starting again now that it’s getting into wedding season – yay - (I work at a hotel!) and I’ve got a heap of homework and revision on my plate at the mo, so I really do apologise. Hopefully I’ll be back to my normal blogging next week!

This is slightly delayed, but better late than never right? Here are my February Favourites, just a few things that I’ve got quite a bit of use out of or I purchased last month, that I’d like to share with you!

1.      I picked up these jeans quite recently at Vero Moda (and yes, I am becoming slightly addicted to that shop.) They’re called ‘super stretch skinny jeans’ and they’re so so comfy! I got this pair in the darkest-wash colour and I absolutely love them. They are really similar to Topshop’s Leigh jeans which are also ‘supersoft’ but I’d say these are better quality. They even come in long length (yay for tall people) and they were easy to find by size and length in store (unlike topshop!)

2.      Next up, is this Nivea express hydration primer, which I absolutely love. I bought the blue one a few months ago, which is for ‘normal/combination’ skin and it’s been lovely. It is a really good quality primer, not too thick or too watery and it does a really good job of smoothing out all the corrections on your face, before you apply foundation. I highly recommend you try it out, I loved it so much I went and bought another, only this time I got the ‘dry skin’ pink pot to try.

3.      Nombre trois. The other day I was having a bit of a rumble around in my wardrobe looking for something, and I re-found this top! It’s a simple navy tee that I bought shortly after Christmas in the Zara sale. It reads : ‘L’amour ne dure pas toujours mais rien de mieux que de rêver. Alors rêvons’ which means ‘Love doesn’t always last forever, but there’s nothing better than to dream. So dream’. I thought it was really cute, I’m so glad I found it too, as I’m going to Paris at the end of the month. It only cost about £5, which is pretty good going don’t you think?

4.      If you haven’t tried Benefit’s ‘They’re real’ you are really missing out - it’s gorgeous! I picked this up in House of Fraser for £14.50, £5 off woo, and I honestly haven’t put it down since – it makes my lashes so long! I find the best way to apply it, is very slowly as it can clump if you try to rush it, but once you’ve got the knack, you’ll be fine. If you’re thinking of purchasing this, keep an eye out in Debenhams and House of Fraser, as they often have flash sales on Benefit products!

5.     Lastly, is a beautiful skirt that I got on ebay! It was brand new with tags and everything. Originally from Urban Outfitters’ ‘Pins and Needles’ label a cute a-line skirt in this ditsy yellow daisy print – perfect for spring. And I was so happy to find that it fitted perfectly! And it did help that it was almost 70% off the original price. Gotta love a bargain eh?

Et Voila! That’s all my February favourites, hopefully I’ll be doing this kind of post every other month, so let me know what you think via Twitter or right here.

Lots of love,
Roseanne

Monochrome Lookbook : New Look

Monochrome is a key trend this upcoming season, so yesterday I hit the shops to explore the new fashions available on the great British high street (such a hardship, I know!)

Black and white are like partners in crime, they look good on everyone and can be a girl's secret weapon in times of need, especially when paired together, as it is so easy to jazz up a simple monochrome outfit; that could be through our makeup, jewellery, shoes or accessories, depending on your own personal style.

I had a good look around all popular the high street shops, and absolutely fell in love with this cute jagged dogtooth mini skirt, from New Look, with the small notches at the front, and it inspired me to create a lookbook for you all! All the items are listed below.

This cami is so versatile don’t you think (?)I chose this cami because I thought that the lace trim was really cute, therefore it can be worn again with other outfits, however with this look, I think it’d look best tucked in.

The skirt. Oh the skirt. Isn’t it divine? I love how it isn’t just a plain A-line skirt, the notches are really cute and add a little something extra to it,  I think it makes it look more upscale and chic. I’d suggest wearing black tights with this skirt along with these chelsea style boots, as the combination of black tights and boots would give the illusion of longer legs!
I think the boots are also very versatile, I bet that all of you can think of at least three items of clothing on your wardrobe that they’d go perfectly with already, therefore they’d be an investment for any fashionista.

Outfit Info:
Cami - £14.99
Mini Skirt - £17.99
Boots - £24.99
Flower necklace - £5.99
Bracelets - £4.99
All from New Look!

How do you like this trend? Do you like this look? Feel free to tweet me @roseanne_sophia or tag me on Instagram @all_things_rosy in your monochrome inspired OOTD, I'd love to see them!

Love Roseanne
