May Favourites - Beauty and Lifestyle!

I finished uni just over two weeks ago and since then I have to say I've been rather busy between social events and working at Costa.

I've had a fantastic month so to say and with it being my last month away from home, I have my May favourites for you seen as they'll probably change once I'm home!

Beauty

Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water. I bought this little gem in Whitley Bay last week when I was staying at a friends, when I forgot to take cleanser with me. So I took that as the perfect opportunity to try this out. I''d seen lots of good reviews for it, praising Garner for their fabulous creation, and I have to say I do indeed agree! It is soft on the skin and wipes away makeup and dirt hassle-free (no need to scrub away!) Priced at £4.19 (Boots) it's an absolute bargain - it's even cheaper than the Simple Cleanser.

Revlon's Pink Nude 900 Nail Varnish

This is the nail varnish that I've been looking for my entire life. (Well, maybe not my ENTIRE life, but you get the jist!) You know how everyone has a different shade of nude that suits their skin tone, well - this is mine! It's a pale peachy colour which drys quickly and looks lovely on - Revlon also have many other nude colours, so if this one isn't for you, have a look on their stand, I'm sure you'll find yours.

Mac's Peach Blossom Lipstick

I'm not really a makeup kind of girl. I mean, I'll wear foundation and a little mascara during the day and maybe if i'm going out I might even splash out and wear eyeshadow. But all in all, I like to keep things simple.
I bought this lipstick a while back and haven't used it in ages, but since finding it rolling around the back of my 'all-sorts' drawer, I've used it almost everyday and I really like it. And to top it all off, it even has a vanilla-ey sort of taste - yum!

Lifestyle

Running. Recently I've had a real health kick. I don't know where it's come from and I'm not gonna be going all 'Jillian Michaels' on you, but I am starting to really enjoy running. So much that I'm setting my alarm for half eight, to go for a run before work - I KNOW, weird right?

I haven't ever been a runner. I only started going for the odd run late last year after starting uni up in Sunderland. But more recently, i.e. over the last few weeks, I've really got my butt in gear and downloaded 'Map My Run' (highly recommended!) to track my progress and so on and so on.
I'm not doing it for any specific reason, other than to run. It's a good way to clear your head, for me anyway, and if there are also health benefits then so be it.

Book - Gone Girl

Ok. I admit, I'm pretty late to jump on the bandwagon with this one because it's been out so long. I mean they've even made the film version by now.
But not so long ago, I went to town on my tod and before popping into Caffè Nero I realised I didn't have a book to read, so I picked this up in WHSmith and I literally haven't been able to put it down since. If you're behind, like me, then I'll give you a little summary: It's about a man named Nick, who comes home on his wedding anniversary to find his wife, Amy, gone. If you had't guessed by the title of the book Amy is Gone Girl. The book follows the search for Amy as Nick picks up on clues she has left for him.
I haven't finished it yet, but I also don't want to give anything away, but I'd really recommend it if you like thrillers or crime novels!

That's all my favourites for this month, if you share any of these favourites let me know in the comments below, or if you just fancy a chat you can tweet me @roseanne_sophia !

Love Rosie,
xx

P.S. I've changed the title of my blog back to Le Blog De Rosy, what do you guys think? I just thought it might be confusing that the title didn't match the web address!

Parisienne pour un jour

I recently received a lovely book for my birthday called 'Parisian Chic' by Ines de la Fressange, and I'm obsessed with the laid back, sophisticated french style, so this book was the prefect gift for me.
I found it so cool and interesting, there are loads of tips and how-to's and some great illustrations - I was utterly inspired! So today I took a trip to Newcastle with my friend Lucy, so I thought I'd give le look parisienne a go! (Let me know how you think I did!)

I curled my hair gently with my Mark Hill curling wand, then ran my fingers through it for a wavy style. As for makeup, I kept it minimal with le au naturale look, using my Mac Studio Fix Fluid, Benefit's They're Real mascara and Mac's Peach Blossom lipstick.

What am I wearing?
Scalloped Black Top - Topshop
Stripy Sailor Skirt - Topshop
Brown Loafers - Accesorize
Tan Bag - Gift
Bicycle Necklace - Gift
Watch - Coccinelle

Here are a few pictures from the book:

*Apologies for the bedroom mirror photos, I did mean to get some pictures while out, but I was having so much fun, I forgot! #BadBlogger!

Au revoir mes amis,

Newcastle's Fashion Futures Event at The Baltic!

Last Thursday I was lucky enough to score an invite to Newcastle’s fashion futures event. Previously Newcastle Fashion Week, it was a brilliant event running at the BALTIC on the quayside.

The Baltic
Sponsored by Mercedes Benz
Henry Holland and Laura Weir.
Alexandra Shulman.

There were three talks on that day from industry professionals. The first was from a panel of industry insiders such as Charis Younger, designer at All Saints, Darren Spurling, MD of Terry De Havilland, Kate Ablett, designer at Berghaus and Michelle Taylor, founder of Tallulah Love.
Then the second and third included British designer Henry Holland, 2014’s Fashionn Journalist of the year Laura Weir and last but not least, Alexandra Shulman, editor of British Vogue.

It was an amazing day, and I was so so lucky to have been given the opportunity to attend because it was absolutely fantastic!

Henry offered some insight into the advice he was give by his mother when younger; “On average you have eight careers in life.” I found this really interesting! He reports that he is so far on three, and hopes to possibly write a book in the near future, in order to add ‘author’ to the list.

Laura Weir was fantastic. She had a real way with outwards and her confidence was admiring. Also the fact that her and Henry are besties makes me very jealous!

Then Alexandra Shulman spoke about her way up the ladder to Vogue. It was interesting to hear that originally she was never interested in fashion, but more the psychology of fashion: which is something I’d also like to learn more about.

Overall the day was wonderful and it was amazing. I’ll definitely be going again next year!

The day did continue on into the night with an amazing catwalk show from Northumbria's fashion design students, however my friend Lucy and myself had to head back to S'land to get some prep done for our exam on Friday.

Saying that, I'm all finished with uni now! All done until September - woop woop! So hopefully, I'll be getting some more OOTD posts on here for you when I have my charming little photographer back. (i.e. my 13 year old sister!)

Sharing the love - My Favourite Bloggers

The blogging community is generally very friendly so I thought it’d be fun to help a sister out and show off some of my favourite bloggers, as I really enjoy them, so why not share them with you, and then we can all enjoy them together. YAY!

So let’s get on with the show, here are my five of my favourite blogs to read…

Amber is a lovely full-time blogger who lives in Scotland with her husband Terry, and her gorgeous little bichon-frise, Rubin, who often makes cheeky appearances in her posts.
I love Amber’s blog because she has a classic style, like a modern day Audrey Hepburn, but with gorgeous flame red hair.
Her writing style is very chatty too, which I love, as it makes her anecdotal stories all the more fun to read!

Tassels and Toiles is a fashion style blog, which is run by my lovely friend Emma. Emma is a fashion marketing student in West Yorkshire. She has a very modern style and an amazing head of hair. Honestly, her locks are actually to die for and she's such a lovely girl!:)
Her blog is really fun to read, as she regularly updates it with OOTD’s and OOTN posts which are always fun as she has a really cool laid back style!

A lovely girl called Amy runs this blog, who is actually at the same uni as me doing the same course!
Amy’s style is very retro, and she sure can rock the 60s style. Also, her photography is in good quality, she always has a good backdrop or setting for each of her posts.
Amy’s blog is mostly fashion related but she does blog about Beauty and Lifestyle as well – be sure to check out her recent post on her trip to see Wicked! (I really enjoyed it!)

Next up is Total Modisch, (which I always spell wrong when searching for it!) It’s a fab little fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog, set up by a girl called Ruby, who is also a student.
I love Ruby’s blog, it’s so well laid out and monochromatic, which makes her photographs stand out more.
Her reviews are also top notch, and she is responsible for the last £15 I spent in boots – taking her advice and trying new nail varnishes - but I loved them all so i'll let her off! ( Oops)
Ruby has a really cool fashion style, it's like comfort-chic and she works it really well in my opinion!

Last but not least is Someone Like You, ran by a girl called Lauren who is currently studing fashion merchandising in America.
Laurens style is to die for! She takes inspiration from vintage fashions and mixes them current trends and it so cute! She is also an expert thriftier, and always has the coolest accessories to match her outfits.
She’s a beautiful girl too and I just love her style – so be sure to check out her blog too!

Thanks for reading guys, I hope this has inspired you to follow a few (if not all of these girls) as I really think they are top-notch bloggers!

Until next time mes amis,

Love Rosie
