Spectacular!

This week I finally got my new glasses! I’ve been meaning to go to specsavers for months because I'd been having terrible headaches due to the fact my eyesight has changed yet again!

I went down to specsavers last week, with my mum at hand snapping cheeky shots of me trying glasses on
because I couldn’t see myself in the mirror! Eventually, after a lot of snaps and messing around, I chose these Beautiful Gok Wan frames. Meant to be £99, but we got a lovely NHS voucher and scored these beauties for £10!

These aren’t drastically different from my trusty Karen Milllen frames (yes, I had them for 4 years) but I like the rounded features they have and I think they frame my face quite nicely. Definitely better than those giant ones I’ve been wearing, that make my face look reeeeeaally big.

^Messing Around^
I’ve worn glasses full time ever since year 7; when I had some very ugly purple wirey framed ones, that both hurt and looked terrible. I have tried contacts every now and again, but I do tend to get a bit lazy and end up just wearing my glasses day to day.

I’d say I’m rather pleased with my new investment. The tortoise shell coloured frame matches the many colours in my hair at the moment (which looks very different in the above photo but hey ho!) and they’re really comfy. What could be better? Seen as I wear them every day, choosing glasses is a big choice, but honestly, I think these glasses will do just fine for now seen as they have a lot to live up to!

Do you wear glasses? How do you like my new ones? Leave me a message below in the comment box, I love hearing from you all!

Au revoir mes copains,

Visit to the British Library + OOTD

On Thursday, I hopped on the coach to London to visit the British Library with my English Language class, in order to have a little tour and go to a lecture on women’s liberation.

All in all it was a great day out, (even though I did almost miss the coach.) We stopped off at St.Pancras station to have a look around the shops, which was a bit odd, I was hoping for Covent Garden but hey ho! The shops there are cute, there was a lovely bookshop and a cute little Cath Kidston , but I must admit, it was an odd stop for us ‘tourists’. But we were early, so I guess St.Pancras it was.

At the library we were given a tour by a lovely, but very enthusiastic lady called Irene, who took us to see the archives, where we were able to see the original Alice in Wonderland (!), Shakespeare’s Quartos and Jane Austen’s personal journal, aged 13, recounting the history of Britain.

We even got to meet Jacqueline Wilson, who you will hopefully recognise as the famous author of ‘The Story of Tracy Beaker’ and many more! As a matter of fact, she was to be interviewed there, but she agreed to have a few photographs with our group before she left. It was lovely to meet her; she was so sweet and looked just as she did when I used to read the books!

The feminist lecture was really interesting, and the curator who presented it gave us some insight of the extent of historical records and information available on their website, which I will most definitely be making use of to help with my Extended Project.

Here is what I wore for the trip:

Top - Primark
Skirt - Urban Outfitters
Necklace - Belonged to my Granny
Tights - Pretty Polly
Shoes - Primark
Watch - Coccinelle
Phone case - Cath Kidston

Me and my wonderful friend Katie outside the Library
My Coat - Miss Selfridge
My Bag - Cath Kidston
Katie's Coat - Topshop
Katie's Bag - Vero Moda

My Nail Varnish

With Jacqueline Wilson
We all had a lovely day out, and meeting Jacqueline was the cherry on top of our day!

Hope you're not letting this terrible British Weather get you down,

P.S . I have no clue why my hair looks so red in this picture, as I just dyed it brown again, to get rid of the red tinge, but oh well, lets just say 'it's the light'.

Time is an illusion

One of my favourite quotes by Albert Einstein “Time is an illusion”, another by Jane Austen, which no one can deny; “Time will explain.”

At the moment, my world revolves around time, there’s never enough hours in the day to fit in what you need to do and studying for A-levels is at the top of my list at the moment. So today, I’m having a relaxing study day, working on my A2 Textiles work and some French work also.

This watch is my favourite accessory; I bought it myself for my 17th birthday last year, at Bicester shopping centre. It is from a cute little accessory shop called Coccinelle. It has a brown/tan leather strap and a white face with black numbers. If you've seen my post on Instagram, you'll see that I wear my watch 'the wrong way round' a habit that I can't (and don't really want to get out of) but my friends always find it funny.

Just a short post today, I do apologise, but hopefully you’ll understand the work load or when you study A levels!

Don’t forget you can follow me on BloglovinTwitter and Instagram for weekly updates!

Thanks for reading,

Ooh la la - French Connection

Yesterday, me and my friend Frances went into town for  a much needed revision break, we had a lovely catch up in Costa (where else?!) and after that headed down to a vintage fair. Unfortunately it was super duper busy and we didn’t see too much, besides this beautiful vintage navy blazer that I spotted (with gold buttons) but sadly it was too big L

So, we then wandered around town and went into French Connection, a favourite of mine, to find the new season Spring Collection. Let’s just say lots of monochrome and lots of pastel pink colours, they were to die for! Honestly, I plan to save up and treat myself from FCUK soon, so here are two look books I put together from their new Spring Line …

Capri Cropped Jacket £120

The first is a outfit from their lookbook, I didn't think it necessary for me to add anything else to this because I already love it! This suit is soo gorgeous... where do I sign? The ¾ sleeves look really good too, I love how this suit would be really versatile too, you could dress it up with heels and you could dress it down by wearing them separately, as a style piece!

Textured Dress £69
Tote Bag £275
Leather Boots £110

Secondly is this grey/tweed look dress, which I have teamed with a black leather tote bag and black ankle boots. I actually tried this dress on in store and oh my - I will sing it's praises! The material is really good quality and surprisingly, it fit me really well, however the price tag was rather on the heavy side, but I adore it all the same!

What do you think of these outfits? Do you often shop at French Connection? What are your favourite styles this season?

Let me know, pop a comment below or tweet me @roseanne_sophia , I love hearing from you all!

Hope you enjoyed this post!
