Elle A/W Ensemble

It’s here! Elle Collections Autumn/Winter has landed!
First of all I would just like to point out that autumn and winter are my two favourite seasons – I love the cold weather it means one thing will return. . . LAYERING! I love it!

I bought Elle Collections quite recently and after getting through it (almost 200 pages!) I thought I would blog about it to you, and if you haven’t already bought it, go get it! Before it’s too late! But if you need a bit of convincing, consider this post as a sneak-preview. .

Elle Collections comes with a pull-out newspaper on this season’s fashions (there’s even a crossword!) and from Tom Ford to Choupette Lagerfeld, it is jam-packed with exciting articles and pictures! I particularly admire the ‘Art Revisited’ page, combining art and fashion.

I highly recommend this bible of a magazine, to all those aspiring fashionistas, photographers, editors and models out there! The street-style section features the work of Garance Doré and Scott Schuman, showing that street-style is becoming much more high-fashion.

My favourite part is ‘The shows’, showcasing the new Autumn/Winter collections of the top designers we all know and love. Nearly 40 pages of shows – what more can a girl ask for?! The garments (and accessories) I admire the most are:
·       Saint Laurent Wool Duffel Coat
·       Emporio Armani Bowler hats
·       Lanvin bustier dress with embroidered rose
·       Dolce & Gabbana embroidered gold sequin dress

Which are your favourites? I’d love to know :) Drop a comment in the box below!

The magazine also features a ‘New Moods’ section and a portfolio of self-portraits entitled ‘They made this’, hands up to whoever thought of the concept it is so clever and very artistic!

Not to mention the ‘Objects of desire’, showcasing up-close the new pieces we will soon worship.

THERE IS JUST SO MUCH IN ELLE COLLECTIONS THAT I CAN’T EXPRESS HOW GOOD IT IS OK? SO JUST GO BUY IT! QUICK!!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Confession : Magazines

I have a confession to make. Fashion Magazines are my nemesis . . .

In total, this month I have bought 5. Coming in at £18.45! If it weren't for my Vogue subscription (cheers Santa!) I would be skint penniless! But isn't it worth it though?
They are so sly with their beautiful covers, bright colours, high fashion models sporting the new trends AND let’s not forget our favourite style icons! Silently pulling you towards them, knowing your purse will suffer, yet inside you tell yourself ‘It’s worth it! I can do this!’ You hand over the cash to your local newsagent, full of joy and happiness that when you get home you can pop the kettle on and sit down with a lovely cup of tea and a great mag!

·       So, here is what I got:
·       Vogue Paris
·       Vogue
·       Elle Collections
·       Elle
·       Company

I have been on the lookout for ‘Vogue Paris’ for the last three months and finally found it just yesterday! I am doing A-Level French and I think reading French articles really improves your knowledge of the language and I love to see the difference between the Paris and London trends!

Vogue has been my go-to fashion magazine since I was 13, and I still love it! The articles are only the best and have all my favourite models/actresses and writers all in the one book. This month’s cover star is Freja Beha Erichsen wearing a Céline turtleneck sweater. She is so beautiful!

Elle Collections is wonderful! It features a pull-out newspaper of the new fashions, a sleek street-style by only the top photographers and (my favourite) THE SHOWS! 39 pages of the most up-to-date fashion shows, including Saint Laurent, Comme des Garcons and Lanvin.
(Look out for my upcoming post on Elle Collections!)

Elle. I don’t normally buy Elle on a monthly basis. I only ever get it if there is a certain article I want to see. This month my sole reason was Pixie Geldof (cover star) and the Alexa Chung page!

Lastly Company! I think company is best for high street shoppers, and the special issues such as the high-street edits or the fashion blogger issues are really good!

What fashion magazines do you read? Have any comments? Pop them in the box below J

Save, Spend, Splurge - Swimwear

It's officially summer again(!) and I'm here to help you find the perfect bikini to suit you and your spending habits!

Here are three bikinis that I have handpicked for you, varying in price; you can choose to save, spend or splurge …

SAVE - This is the Whitworth bikini from Jack Wills outlet, the top is £7 and the bottoms are £5, coming in at a mere £12 - a total save! It features a pink bespoke vintage print, with under-wired cups and a halter neck tie. The outlet does have a waiting list to get onto, but it is totally worth it and can find yourself a good bargain!

SPEND - Secondly we have this camouflage (Yes camo is back!) print bikini from Topshop. The contrast between the white and the green will really compliment your soon-to-be-tanned body! This bikini has high-waisted shorts - perfect for all you pear-shaped girls out there! Costing £34, it is a spend but not so much to be breaking the bank!

SPLURGE - Lastly we have this beautiful vintage print bikini from Wildfox at Urban outfitters which I absolutely adore! At £128, it is most definitely a splurge, but trust me - if I had £128 to spend on swimwear I WOULD. Being from Wildfox it is no doubt, good quality and would last longer and vintage print will stay in fashion forever! Again, this bikini has high-waisted bottoms, although the top looks more like a bandeau, perfect for lounging around by the pool.

Have a great summer!

Savvy shopper

Recently I went shopping and purchased a few summer items that I absolutely adore! (You gotta love the sales right?) I thought I'd share with you what I got just because I'm so happy with it all!
Here is the low-down for each of my items:
The suede tan loafers were £14 from accessorize (orig £30), I love them so much! They practically go with all my outfits; be it dresses or jeans, they were a great buy!!
This is a picture showing the top and skirt. The top is pink lace with a cute round lace trim (you can see better in the top picture.) It was £14.99 from Topshop, which is quite cheap for Topshop! I really like it as it is just the right length - higher than my hips but lower than my waist (if you get me?). And the maxi skirt was only £12.99 from H&M, again it's a simple item that you can dress up with heels or wear with sandals in the day.

Lastly, this beautiful bird print top, which was £24 from Red Herring at Debenhams. It was slightly more expensive but I think it was totally worth it because it is so me! I love the birds and the colours compliment each other really well. I paired it with blue moto denim shorts bought from Topshop last year. All ready for the summer sun!

So in total I spent roughly £40, on three great items that I will most definitely be getting some use out of over the summer (If it stays sunny- fingers crossed!)

Au revoir for now!
